Along with the four elements, there are four nations that correspond with each element. In the Avatar world, there are people who are able to control, or "bend", the four elements: Air, Water, Earth, and Fire. The entire series has been released on Region 1 DVD ( USA), but only part of the series has been released for Region 2 ( Europe). The second and third were released with the Complete Second Season Box Set DVD. The first self-parody was released via an online flash game. The first recap summarized the first seventeen episodes while the second summarized season two. In addition to the three seasons, there were two recap episodes and three "shorts". The show's first two seasons each had 20 episodes, while the third season had 21. Each "Book" takes its name from one of the elements that the protagonist ( Aang) must control: Water, Earth, and Fire. And it’s rare that you can link the hero to the villain in such a way that you feel bad for both of them. Both Aang and Zuko are in a way running from their pasts and also trying to live up to people’s expectations at the same time. I also love how Zuko is shown to be so complex and troubled. I’m obsessed with stories about reluctant leaders with shameful backstories, and Aang’s is a potent one. This was the episode that got me to love Avatar. Aang also has to save Sokka from another storm, which shows the Avatar getting over his fears and also shows massive growth in his character development. Aang talks about his past and how he got stuck in his iceberg in the first place (it’s because of a storm), and Iroh recounts how Zuko got his scar. “The Storm” is the best episode of the series since it’s the one that fully humanizes Aang and Zuko, who are arguably the two best characters on the show.
